Screen printing is a traditional craft where each colour of your design is applied to the product using a separate screen. This method results in vibrant, intensely luminous colours, making it particularly suitable for team orders.
How Screen Printing Works
Screen printing is classified as a direct printing method, similar to Digital Direct Printing and DTF Transfer Printing. However, unlike digital methods, the ink is applied to the fabric through a screen. The screens themselves act as stencils, created for each individual colour in the design. Once the fabric is stretched, the colours can be applied one by one using a squeegee through the screen onto the material. After the application, the ink is dried and then fixed to ensure that it remains durable and elastic even after multiple washes. Since this process requires the creation of a separate screen for each colour, we allow designs with a maximum of five colours per side. A one-time setup fee of €39.99 applies for the screens.
Vibrant Colours
Screen printing is renowned for its high-quality output. It produces bold, vivid, and opaque colours, whether the design features just a few colours or intricate patterns with fine details. To ensure that the designs stand out on dark fabrics, a layer of white ink is applied before the actual colour is printed.
Ideal for Team Orders
The greater the quantity of items ordered, the lower the cost per print. This is due to the fact that screens need to be made for each design, specifically for each colour within that design. Therefore, producing in bulk, such as for team orders of T-shirts, hoodies, or jerseys, is more cost-effective. For this reason, we establish a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces.
Important Considerations for Screen Printing
If you wish to have something printed using the screen printing method, there are several key points to consider regarding your graphic:
- A minimum order quantity of 50 pieces, which is perfect for team orders that can receive discounts of up to 60%.
- Vector graphic format (.svg or .ai), with a maximum size of 10 MB.
- Designs must contain a maximum of 5 colours.
- Custom names and numbers cannot be printed on products that are printed using the screen printing method.
